    What each one does

    FPTP
    — Each riding elects one member: whoever gets the most votes wins the seat.
    AV
    — Each riding still elects one member, but you rank the candidates; if no one has a majority, the lowest is eliminated and their votes transfer until someone passes 50%.
    List PR
    — Seats in a region are shared between parties in proportion to their votes.
    List PR+
    — Proportional party lists, plus a regional top-up tier to even out the overall result.
    STV
    — You rank candidates; seats fill by quota, with surplus and eliminated votes transferred.
    STV+
    — Single transferable vote, plus a regional top-up tier to even out the overall result.
    MMP
    — A local member, plus top-up seats that bring each party's seats closer to its vote share.
